If the device works, it'll allow Sam to alter a person's perception of time. Whilst the professor works on his hidden project, Matty returns to the lab after forgetting her keys. Sam can't allow her to reveal his hidden project. He uses the device, successfully slowing down his assistant to the point where she appears frozen in time. Professor Sam's invention works, but it requires more testing. Now having a sexy test subject at his disposal, Sam pushes his invention to its limits, using Matty's body for his experiments.
